I didn't see the "film" but I heard the dv aspect wasn't so great. It seems that all these medium buget films that are going the dv route could just as easily gone the super16 route. Sure it's more expensive but somehow low buget features have managed it for years. If I can afford to shoot 16 then I think a film with big names can swing it too.
Although a film with a lot of improv could get pretty pricey
